A Simple Cellular Automaton That Solves the Density and Ordering Problems
نویسنده
چکیده
Cellular automata (CA) are discrete, dynamical systems that perform computations in a distributed fashion on a spatially extended grid. The dynamical behavior of a CA may give rise to emergent computation, referring to the appearance of global information processing capabilities that are not explicitly represented in the system’s elementary components nor in their local interconnections. As such, CAs offer an austere yet versatile model for studying natural phenomena, as well as a powerful paradigm for attaining fine-grained, massively parallel computation. An example of such emergent computation is to use a CA to determine the global density of bits in an initial state configuration. This problem, known as density classification, has been studied quite intensively over the past few years. In this short communication we describe two previous versions of the problem along

A Cellular Automaton Based Algorithm for Mobile Sensor Gathering
In this paper we proposed a Cellular Automaton based local algorithm to solve the autonomously sensor gathering problem in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSN). In this problem initially the connected mobile sensors deployed in the network and goal is gather all sensors into one location. The sensors decide to move only based on their local information. Cellular Automaton (CA) as dynamical sy...
متن کاملBCK-ALGEBRAS AND HYPER BCK-ALGEBRAS INDUCED BY A DETERMINISTIC FINITE AUTOMATON
In this note first we define a BCK‐algebra on the states of a deterministic finite automaton. Then we show that it is a BCK‐algebra with condition (S) and also it is a positive implicative BCK‐algebra. Then we find some quotient BCK‐algebras of it. After that we introduce a hyper BCK‐algebra on the set of all equivalence classes of an equivalence relation on the states of a deterministic finite...
متن کاملCoevolving Cellular Automata: Be Aware of the Red Queen!
This paper studies the use of coevolution to search for a cellular automaton (CA) solving the well-known density classification task. The Coevolutionary Genetic Algorithm (CGA) coevolves two non-interbreeding populations which interact as predator and prey. The main purpose of this paper is to illustrate some of the intricacies involved in the use of coevolution to solve a given task. Concepts ...
متن کاملTREE AUTOMATA BASED ON COMPLETE RESIDUATED LATTICE-VALUED LOGIC: REDUCTION ALGORITHM AND DECISION PROBLEMS
In this paper, at first we define the concepts of response function and accessible states of a complete residuated lattice-valued (for simplicity we write $mathcal{L}$-valued) tree automaton with a threshold $c.$ Then, related to these concepts, we prove some lemmas and theorems that are applied in considering some decision problems such as finiteness-value and emptiness-value of recognizable t...
متن کاملA new attitude coupled with the basic thinking to ordering for ranking fuzzy numbers
Ranking fuzzy numbers is generalization of the concepts of order, and class, and so have fundamental applications. Moreover, deriving the final efficiency and powerful ranking are helpful to decision makers when solving fuzzy problems. Selecting a good ranking method can apply to choosing a desired criterion in a fuzzy environment. There are numerous methods proposed for the ranking of fuzzy n...
